OPEN ROLES

business outreach

Sponsorship Committee Lead

Bell asks businesses to donate to the school in exchange for promoting their business. Depending on your style and how it fits in with your day-to-day, it could be something you squeeze in from your home office or an on-the-boots canvasing task.

  • Create promotional materials and messaging for the program

  • Target, promote, and sign up new sponsors

  • If you want to, recruit and lead a committee of volunteers to assist in targeting new prospects and managing existing sponsor relationships

Parents’ Night Out Coordinator

Parents love time off - let’s create opportunities to make it happen that benefit Bell either monetarily or at a huge discount for the community.

  • Work with organizations to schedule and manage the logistics

  • Promote and manage sign-ups for Parents Night Out events

  • Reach out to other organizations to create new Parent Night opportunities

Community building

Community Builder

You’re a natural social butterfly. We need you to spread your wings. Connections between caregivers are the keystone of a thriving school community, but sometimes people need a little nudge to get things going. We don’t necessarily need more sanctioned events; we need your creativity to motivate individuals to take action and make friends.

  • Schedule the grade-level mixers for the beginning of the year

  • Provide room parents with a framework to set up grade-level or room events, or invite them to encourage others in the class to take action with book clubs, dads’ night out, etc

  • If you’re ambitious, set up a couple of events, e.g., a full-time parents coffee meetup, or find a volunteer to sponsor a Parent Party that speaks to niche audiences like only children, parents, or affinity groups.

Good Neighbors

Bell Family Fund

Looking for a compassionate parent leader to jumpstart a community aid program to assist Bell families who need support. The goal would be to provide immediate assistance with items or financial needs in a confidential manner that allows students to focus on their education. This could include scholarships, school supplies, household items, etc.

Sister School

The Children’s First Fund matches two CPS schools to develop a personalized relationship that helps enhance education for both communities. From joint field trips and parent enrichment to providing additional financial resources to our partner school, Friends of Bell can build an enduring relationship to expand connections across our CPS community. We need a passionate parent leader passionate to spearhead this initiative.

Fundraising

Bell Birthday Fund

We need a marketer! Help spread the word about our newest initiative. Do your children really need more gifts? Stop the clutter. In lieu of gifts at your next birthday party, you can participate in the Bell Birthday Fund and encourage your guests to donate to Bell in honor of your child.

  • Create the messaging

  • Design promotional materials from flyers to social posts

  • Project manage requests to promote the initiative through Bell channels at regular intervals

Wishlist Parent Lead or Co-Lead

This fundraiser has the clearest impact on the student experience. Work with a teacher to lead an annual fundraiser in which donors choose what to fund.

  • Coordinate the creation of campaigns in our fundraising platform

  • Create promotions, bulletin boards, and flyers to make sure goals are met

  • Recruit volunteers as necessary

  • Report and analyze the progress and gaps

School activities

Sports Boosters Lead or Co-Lead

Students can participate in extracurricular sports starting in 5th grade. We often host volleyball and basketball games at Bell, making it the perfect opportunity to raise money. Let’s put our power behind Bell athletics.

  • Recruit and organize volunteers to sell concessions to raise money for Bell athletic teams

  • Assist the athletics department in managing t-shirt orders

  • Support the athletics department in finding volunteer coaches as necessary

marketing & communications

Graphic Designers

Got a creative streak? We need design gurus to bring our fundraising materials and events to life with eye-catching visuals! Fit it into your schedule as you’re able.

  • Design flyers, graphics, and event materials

  • Help with branding for Friends of Bell and its programs

  • Create engaging visual content for newsletters and the website
